Abstract

Bambam language is a tribal language spoken by people in the Mamasa district, West
Sulawesi Province. Efforts to study and documentation of the local language Bambam were
carried out by an agency called Tim Penerjemah Bahasa Bambam (Tim-PBB). Lack of guidance
on local culture and language resulted in decreased knowledge of young people about Bambam
culture and language. In this research the authors collaborated with Tim-PBB to design a
application forum communication for the Bambam language, where the application is expected
to facilitate young people to learn together about the culture and language of Bambam. The
research development method uses the waterfall model, by applying the concept of quantitative
data analysis. The result of the research is a website application developed with the concept of
an online forum and named "Application Forum Communication for Bambam Language".
Functionality testing with the black box method, and implementation testing with the interview
method, succeeded as expected. The aim of this research is to design a application forum
communication for the Bambam language in order to support the efforts to develop the culture
and language of bambam which is declared successful based on the final results of the research.
